The Solar Dynamics Observatory will generate an unprecedented space science data stream of 150 Mbps. The primary challenge of the SDO Ground System is to provide continuous, near-real-time science delivery of the large volumes of science data. Other challenges include high data completeness requirements and utilization of a new Ka band antenna network for the data capture. The presentation will report on the progress of the SDO Ground Systems team in designing a cost-effective, reliable ground system for SDO.
