Meteors: Observations, Instrumentation
Scientific paper
The television observation of faint meteors in Ondřejov started in 1990 (taking meteor spectra). Since 1997 we also perform the double station observation in the integral light. We observe on the stations in Ondřejov and Kunžak, the base distance is 92.5 km. The cameras (camcorders) are equipped with the second generation image intensifiers. The diameter of the field of view is about 22 degrees and limiting magnitude is 8 for stars and 6-7 for moving objects (meteors). More than 3000 meteors were recorded and catalogued up to now. About half of them are double station records. Selected meteors were digitised and measured; their atmospheric and heliocentric trajectories were computed. Observation through the years 1998-2000 is already completely processed and results are presented in this paper. The distribution of trajectory parameters of shower and sporadic meteors are shown as well as the classification of sporadic meteors into classes using KB parameter.
