Three theoretical possibilities are discussed: (1) that G is different for bodies of different nature, (2) that G depends on the distance between gravitating bodies, and (3) that G depends on time. These possibilities are examined with reference to the experimental verification of the equivalence principle and Newton's law of gravitation. Current research appears to indicate that G is constant with respect to all three possibilities.
