We present the first high resolution spectral observations of two stars in the young, metal-rich cluster Pal 1. Spectra were taken with the Subaru HDS in January 2005, and preliminary results from model atmospheres analyses of their abundance ratios are discussed. The younger globular clusters tend to be metal-rich and show lower relative abundances of alpha-elements (e.g., oxygen, magnesium, calcium) than Galactic fields stars (Pritzl et al. 2005, and references therein). However, these same clusters (e.g., Ter 7 and Pal 12) have been kinematically associated with the Sag dwarf galaxy remnant. Low [alpha/Fe] ratios would strongly suggest that Pal 1, like Pal 12 and Ter 7, has an extragalactic origin.
