According to the relativistic beaming hypothesis of Ryle and Longair (1967) the observed intensity ratios of the eastern and western precessing beams of SS 433 should exceed 2 at optimum epochs, when the beams are ejected closest to the line of sight, provided the intrinsic intensities of the beams are about the same. This effect is demonstrated on model VLBI contour maps and qualitatively compared with the only actually observed structure at optimum epoch. The comparison indicates, that two, basically different interpretations of the observed structure should be considered. The effect of relativistic beaming on the SS 433 radio structure should be confirmed by further VLBI observations at optimum epochs.
