The prevalence of bars among dwarf spirals as compared to giants and supergiant galaxies is shown to be particularly pronounced in galaxies of Hubble-type Sc. A large sample of homogeneous galaxy classifications from a catalogue was used in the statistical study. A possible explanation for the reported result is that the dynamics of dwarf galaxies are less dominated by massive halos than is the case for giants and supergiants.
