Cerro Negro, Nicaragua is an excellent terrestrial analog for putative
acid-sulfate weathering systems on early Mars. Sulfur- and
sulfate-reducing acidophiles are found throughout Cerro Negro and can
further elucidate the habitability of early Mars.
