Results are presented on the elemental composition of fragments (about 10 mg each) obtained by crushing a 1.8-g sample of the Kainsaz CO chondrite. Three types of distribution of refractory elements were distinguished among these fragments, which differed in fugacity and in tungsten abundance, indicating that different processes (e.g., condensation in gas atmospheres of solar or nonsolar composition and different vaporization rates of the primary metal) were active in the formation of the high-temperature metal fraction of this chondrite, and took place under different redox conditions. The chondrite fragments were characterized by a high degree of REE fractionation and unusual chemical composition of phases enriched by refractory lithophile elements, implying that these samples originated at high temperatures typical of early stages of the solar system's evolution.
