Aerodynamic capture of interplanetary dust by Venus, earth, and Mars is simulated mathematically, taking into account the gravitational attraction by each planet and solar light pressure. The results obtained for earth are found to be in good agreement with previous simulations. The results for Venus and Mars indicate that due to the presence of atmospheres, dust particles should be captured into orbits about these planets. It is concluded that both the total amount of captured material and the particle size distribution in a circumplanetary dust cloud depend on the mass and velocity distributions of sporadic meteoric bodies.
