It is proposed that a smooth physical surface of Mars represented as an expansion in normalized spherical functions to the 16th degree be used as the reference surface. The expansion coefficients are determined on the basis of the expansion coefficients of relief and gravitational potential to the 12th degree. Maps of variations of gravitational force with respect to g(0) = 372.69 Gal and deflections of the vertical on the smooth physical surface are presented.
