The distribution of giant stars of late spectral classes in the plane of the Galaxy is considered. Catalog No. 5015 (SAO and Astrophysical Data) on magnetic tape provided the data source. It is shown that in the strip b in the range of -5.7 to 5.7 deg the distribution of these stars in the plane of the Galaxy is nonuniform and correlated with the distribution of dark gas-dust clouds. The possible evolutionary connection between these stars and interstellar gas-dust clouds is discussed.
