The near-future radio astronomical telescopes can produce many terabytes of data. This offers major challenges. Highly distributed storage and processing are needed to perform all required steps in the limited time available. Hybrid computing using processors like Cell and FPGA might be needed for performance and power consumption reasons. A Master-Worker framework has been developed to drive and control the distributed processing of the data in a way that I/O is reduced as much as possible. The software can be deployed on a variety of hardware ranging from small clusters to supercomputers.
