The methodology of physical modeling of scattering of electromagnetic waves by plasma jets and structures near a spacecraft's surface is developed. The effects of attenuation and distortion of radio signals reflected from spacecraft construction elements by plasma jets and artificial plasma structures, which arise during the operation of electric jet engines, injection of electron beams, and in the course of active and passive experiments in orbit, are experimentally investigated.
