Observational findings concerning extrasolar planetary systems are reviewed. Beta Pictoris is discussed as an example of a planetary system in the process of formation, and possible observations of large planets around a number of stars are discussed as evidence for the existence of mature planetary systems. SiO masers are addressed as evidence of dying planetary systems.
