New integrated forbidden O II 3726, 3729 A doublet ratio observations are presented of 65 southern Galactic PN, and their distances are derived. Integrated forbidden S II 6716, 6731 A double observations are also given, and it is concluded that both density diagnostics yield the same densities for a large homogeneous data set. Regions of extended emission surrounding 23 of the objects are detected. Upper limits on the electron densities are derived for these regions, and it is concluded that the emission originate from regions of diffuse Galactic background emission.
