Consideration is given to the formation of an accretion disk upon the accretion of a stellar wind onto a degenerate star. Conditions for the formation of an accretion cone, an accretion disk and spherically symmetric accretion are derived, and it is shown that if the captured material has a small angular momentum, an extended disk may develop. The effects of the tidal action of the normal star on the removal of angular momentum from the accretion disk in order to maintain a stable accretion configuration are examined, and the properties of accretion disks in three stellar systems in which accretion may be occurring are predicted.
