The computation of light scattering by spheroids using the separation of variables method is rather complicated, the accurate determination of the eigenvalues λmn, recursion coefficients drmn, and radial functions Rmn(j) as well as the accurate solution of a system of linear equations being key steps. The formulae given in this paper have been extensively tested and are expected to be useful in actual computer calculations.
