A VLBI relativistic geometric time delay model for the transformation from the barycentric frame of the solar system to a local frame is derived with the millimeter precision. In contrast to some other models, the present model contains an additional term due to the gravitational potential of the sun. The model also differs from those of Shapiro et al. (1989) and Hellings (1986) by two additional terms due to the geocentric velocity. The new model is also compared with the recent results of Zhu et al. (1988) and Soffel et al. (1990). It is emphasized that all the possible terms larger than 1 ps should be included in a relativistic VLBI model.
