A polar wander path for the period 1,150-670 Myr ago is proposed which uses all the presently available North American paleomagnetic data. A portion of the path forms a Grenville Loop containing all the Grenville poles and some non-Grenville poles. The age assignment of this loop (1,050-950 Myr ago) is consistent with radiometric evidence. The latter portion of the polar path (950-670 Myr ago), called the Hadrynian track, follows an almost great circle path from close to the equator at 180 deg E, over the present geographic North Pole, and down to the equator again close to 0 deg E. During all portions of this path the average drift rate relative to the pole is 8 cm/yr, a much more conservative figure than the drift rates required by previously proposed one-plate models.
