The Nearby Supernova Factory report the discovery of supernova SNF20061011-000 (coordinates RA 02:16:59.89 DEC +30:41:57.4 J2000.0) in an image obtained October 11.4 UTC at an approximate magnitude of 19.1 (calibrated to R) using the QUEST II camera on the Palomar Oschin 48-inch telescope as a part of the JPL Near-Earth Asteroid Tracking component of the Palomar-QUEST Consortium. A spectrum (range 320-1000 nm) of this object was obtained October 13.6 UTC with the Supernova Integral Field Spectrograph on the University of Hawaii 2.2-meter telescope.
