Radio observations of the Rho Oph cloud core, obtained in the 230- and 115-GHz lines of (C-12)O using the 30-m IRAM telescope (near Granada, Spain) in August and December 1988, are reported. The data are presented in tables, graphs, and contour maps and characterized in detail. A clumpy highly collimated bipolar molecular-gas outflow of relatively small extent is detected, with (1) overlapping blueshifted and redshifted emission regions, indicating an orientation along the plane of the sky; (2) relative line strengths suggesting that the high-velocity material is hot and optically thin; and (3) dynamical age about 3000 years. The most likely exciting source for the outflow is found to be VLA 1623, a strong mm-continuum point source which appears to be surrounded by a dense circumstellar disk, seen almost edge-on and perpendicular to the flow.
