The authors report the discovery of a further single magnetic white dwarf of type DA with distinct Hα and Hβ Zeeman triplets. HS 1254+3430 (V≈17) was found as an apparent emission line object on a deep objective prism plate and was subsequently identified spectroscopically. From the Zeeman splitting of Hα and Hβ, the magnetic field of HS 1254+3430 is estimated as 9.5±0.5 MG, and the effective temperature derived from the continuous energy distribution is Teff = 15±4×103K. The coordinates are α = +12h54m53s, δ = +34°30arcmin52arcsec (1950).
