Hard X-rays above 1.5 keV were observed from the central region of the Rho Ophiuchi dark cloud. The X-ray spectrum was fitted by a thin thermal model at a temperature of about 4 keV with the 1.5-10 keV band luminosity of 1.4 x 10 exp 32 erg/s. Iron K-shell emissions from highly ionized atoms were also observed. A flarelike event having a total luminosity of more than 10 exp 35 erg with a decay time of a few hours was discovered.
