The sudden disappearance of a hydrogen filament is described which occurred when no other active processes, either preceding or immediately after the filament's activization, were observed on the sun. The fine structure of the filament is examined in detail together with its daily evolution and dynamic characteristics. A review of hydrogen-alpha films taken over several years indicates that the sudden disappearance of a hydrogen filament is a very rare event.
