It is shown that absorption coefficients of the negative hydrogen ion and coefficients determined from analysis of solar limb darkening observations fit to better than 5 percent for most of the spectral range (0.4-2.4 microns) with a standard deviation of 3.8 percent. These results show considerable improvement over earlier analyses, which produce errors of nearly 40 percent at long wavelengths and a standard deviation of 19 percent when more accurate H(-) absorption coefficients are used in comparisons.
