The consequences on the neutrino background of assuming that neutrinos are massive Dirac spinors are studied. Adding two extra helicity states does not modify much the dynamics of the expansion in the lepton era. Estimates of the present density of the 'wrong' helicity neutrinos are given. The effect of a possible V plus A interaction term is also considered and limits on the coupling constant for this interaction are worked out from the cosmological constraints on the primeval He-4 production. The ratio between the coupling constants of V plus A and V minus A interactions turns out to be limited to values smaller than 0.0001.
