The Dirac equation has been obtained within a general theoretical framework of a «spatially curved» Robertson-Walker metric for a realistic description of Dirac particles in the realms of astrophysics and cosmology. In the limit of zero-curvature and spherical symmetry, the equation reduces to the same form as deduced by Barut and Duru.
