The digital technique for the surface photometry of galaxies developed at the Astronomical Observatory of the Leningrad State University is described. The data processing includes the plotting of the calibration curve, the subtraction of the sky background, the addition of plates, the calibration of surface brightness in absolute units (mag/sq arcsec) and the visualization of two-dimensional data (i.e., the construction of isophote maps and photometric profiles). The quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the software are examined, and it is noted that the algorithms of the various stages can be changed easily.
