The present conference on digital image recovery and synthesis techniques discusses topics in astronomical speckle imaging, interferometric image synthesis, and image recovery by means of phase retrieval. Attention is given to high-resolution astronomical imaging by triple-correlation processing, phase retrieval from Fourier intensity data, the application of bispectrum analysis to IR speckle data, and the discrete-photon case of phase-gradient speckle-image reconstruction. Also discussed are object-reconstruction from photon-limited centroided data of randomly translating images, shift-and-add imaging, a fast triple-correlation algorithm, image reconstruction from rotational shear interferograms, postdetection wavefront distortion compensation, imaging correlography with sparse collecting apertures, automatic deconvolution and phase retrieval, and the effects of tapered illumination and Fourier intensity errors on phase retrieval.
