Applying a logarithmic mapping makes the power spectrum more suited to describe the (roughly lognormal) cosmological density field. A logarithmic mapping extends the effective linear regime of the power spectrum of the density field by a factor of several. The shape of the power spectrum becomes hardly different from the linear power spectrum to k 1 h/Mpc, and a factor of 10 more Fisher information is revealed on non-linear scales. We show these results, as well as give some insights about how the log mapping transfers information from Fourier phase correlations to amplitudes.
