Results of recent investigations indicate that T Tauri stars rotate rigidly [1]. Due to this lack of differential rotation, the stellar magnetic field can not be maintained by a solar-type αΩ dynamo. We have therefore worked out a model of an α2 dynamo and solved the induction equation in three dimensions. The resulting magnetic field is non-axisymmetric and does not show any activity cycle.
