Solar Prominences: Activity, Solar Prominences: Distribution

Scientific paper

Latitude distribution of quiescent prominences has been measured on 132
days in 1997. Analogous to the sunspot number Re a prominence number
Rp has been used to describe the intensity variation of
activity. Mean values of Rp for the northern and southern
hemisphere from 1985 to 1997 are shown and compared with those of Re.
