Recently recorded infrared spectra of diamondoid molecules ranging in size from adamantane to hexamantane have been analyzed for their astrophysical relevance. In particular, coadded spectra have been compared to the 3.47 μm absorption band observed toward many dense clouds and to the emission bands around 3.5 μm from two Herbig Ae/Be stars.
