This contribution shows the development status and the properties of new Electrostatic Levitation Furnace (ELF) system. Prior to this system, a number of ELFs have been developed and performed Small Rocket Experiment Missions. This ELF system is developed such that it may be used as one of the next stage experiment facilities of International Space Station Japan Experimental Module - KIBO -. In this ELF development, several new functions and properties are studied to meet various requests from the users. Main new properties are listed below ; (1) Small and Vacuum Chamber : The chamber used for sample floating melting is designed to a smaller size. The chamber of conventional ELFs were not able to be a smaller size since its components size / quantity. In this ELF, it succeed in the miniaturization of chamber by adoption of small components and the device of a layout. The chamber will provide not only the pressurized condition but also the very high level vacuum condition. The small chamber also provides quick pressurization / de-pressurization after maintenance. (2) Tetrahedral Laser Heating : Four lasers are placed as tetrahedral configuration to accomplish uniform heating and rotation suppression of the sample. (3) Cage Exchangeability : In order to meet the various user requirements and refreshing electrodes (the stain by the sample vapor is problem), the chamber consists of the duplex structure made from the chamber itself and the exchangeable sample cage. The cage is equipped with electrodes. This structure provides the usage of user-specific cages and the ease of refreshing electrodes. (4) High-speed Sample Position Sensing : High-speed sample position sensing system is provided. It consists of the CCD camera scanning function and the real time image processor. It makes a maximum of 1kHz interval control speed. The parabolic flight test and some ground tests using the Breadboard Model have been performed in the current development phase. In this test, the function and efficiency of Tetrahedral Laser Heating and High-speed Position Sensing Function have been tested.
