The requisite for a remote observing system of 2.4m telescope is arising, which could save expense and improve efficiency. As an important part of the remote observing system for 2.4m telescope, the target searching system supports VOTable defined by International Virtual Observatory Alliance and works for the 2.4m telescope of Yunnan observatory. Through the observing preparation system, users can search catalogue, generate simulation chart on-line and provide some tools such as generating target list, cross-identification, distance calculation, etc.
