Space Solar Power System (SSPS) in geostationary orbit consists of large number of microwave transmission units. These units have electric power generators (solar cells), direct current (DC) - radio frequency (RF) converters and microwave transmission antennas. Microwave, converted from DC electric power in each unit, is synchronized with each other. And high power microwave beam is formed from synchronized microwave. The achievement of high DC-RF power conversion efficiency, high precision of beam pointing and weight reduction are the main technical issues to realize SSPS. In this study, a prototype Active Integrated Antenna (AIA) has been developed to confirm the possibility of solving the above technical issues, as one of many concepts of a transmission unit. Semiconductor amplifiers as the DC-RF converter have been applied to the prototype AIA. The semiconductor amplifiers perform at high power conversion efficiency (more than 50%) by AB class*1 amplifier, and the AIA has high output power (about 2W per antenna element). As a result of development and evaluation test of the prototype AIA, the possibility of AIA as one of concepts of a transmission unit has been confirmed. *1:AB class is a method to amplify signal with a small output current to flow when there is not an input signal
