A photographic zenith telescope with a coma-free mirror system (Schmidt mirrors) and a zenith mirror to replace the mercury horizon was built. Apart from conventional photographic recording, the instrument permits the use of a multiplier and oscillating diaphragm for computer controlled operation with electronic measured date acquisition; both can be connected to a high efficiency data processing system.
