Solar rotation parameters are determined from a comparison between the
central depths and asymmetries of Fraunhofer lines of the sun and at
different distances from the solar center. The effect of rotation on the
central depths and asymmetries of spectral lines is analyzed. A method
for determining the rotation rate of slowly rotating stars is proposed.
