Sun: Oscillations, Rotation, Methods: Data Analysis
Scientific paper
We discuss some modifications of the Fourier transform technique which can help to resolve the line structure of solar p-modes. This method is tested using artificial data as well as IPHIR data and its ability to reveal the line shapes is shown. The line profiles of low l (0,1,2) p-modes revealed from IPHIR data (the green and the red channels) for the radial order n from 15 to 26 are presented. The obtained line shapes clearly manifest a strong asymmetry in the amplitudes between the components with different m in the rotationally splitted multiplets. There is an example where only one component (l=1, n=22, m=1) is visible.
