An experiment is proposed to separate the isotopes 1H and 2H, and 3He and 4He at energies between 10 and 100 GeV/n. The suggested apparatus has three functions: charge identification, energy determination, and Lorentz factor determination. The charge identification can be effected by solid state scintillators and Cerenkov counters, and the energy determination by an ionization spectrometer. A gas Cerenkov counter is proposed for Lorentz factor determination of an incident particle.
