The corotation approximation for a surrounding, quasi-neutral plasma is used to investigate the inertial effect on the structure of a rotating star magnetosphere, with the equation of motion reducing to a static balance equation between electromagnetic and centrifugal forces in the rotating frame. The MHD condition, regarded as a special form of the generalized Ohm's law, is modified by the inclusion of inertial effect with a violation of the frozen-in condition in the case of general plasma motion. A partial scalar potential which is proportional to the corotation approximation centrifugal potential summarizes the inertial effect on the electromagnetic field. Several examples of dipole magnetic field modification by inertial effects are given, and it is shown that, in an oblique-rotation case, a neutral sheet warp is reproduced that is in keeping with Jovian magnetosphere observations.
