A correlation between effective temperature and both the B-V and U-B color indices is sought for a sample of about 200 main-sequence stars for which values of B-V and U-B have been observed and effective temperatures determined. An analytical relation for effective temperature as a function of both color indices is obtained and expressed in polynomial form. Coefficients are computed for the polynomial relation. It is noted that the effective-temperature scale obtained appears to be best established for early-type stars, primarily due to a lack of data on late-type stars.
