Pitch-angle scattering of relativistic particles by Alfven wave turbulence is considered. It is shown that for any anisotropy of the wave distribution the transport coefficient of the pitch-angle scattering is an even function of the cosine of the pitch angle. In the case of turbulence with a power-law spectrum, two types of anisotropy of the turbulence are considered: one-dimensional and isotropic. Comparison of the theory with observational data on the diffusion coefficient of galactic cosmic rays makes it possible to estimate the parameters of the Alfven wave turbulence.
