The drag coefficient is derived from the analysis of the changes of the mean daily motion of the satellite 1974-70A. The detailed analysis, together with previous investigations (Sehnal, 1982), shows a changing thermal accommodation coefficient during the first part of the satellite lifetime. The drag coefficient is then computed from formulas based on the values of the thermal accommodation coefficient.
