Scientific paper

A computer program is written for latitude determinations based on
measurement of the zenith distances of the polar star at any instant.
The observation procedure requires knowledge of the time, the zenith
distance, the pressure and temperature. Twenty series of observations
appear to provide a precision level of one arcsec or less.
