The reported investigation is concerned with the integrating effect of detector geometries over directions in the measurement of particle flux distributions in space. A three-dimensional approach is used in the investigation. The flux is represented by an expansion in terms of spherical harmonic functions of the polar coordinates in a space-fixed coordinate system. The obtained expression is transformed to a detector-fixed frame. A graph is provided showing the relative correction factors up to the fourth order as a function of the detector opening angle with zero detector area.
