The mean energy spectrum of atmospherics in the 1-10 kHz range were
calculated. It is shown that these spectra have maxima due to transverse
resonances of the earth-ionosphere cavity. Calculated spectra are
compared with measurement results. Maxima near 2 and 4 kHz are found.
