We present the results of a search for 6.6-GHz A+-methanol masers towards 235 colour-selected IRAS sources which were not known to have associated 1 .6-GHz hydroxyl or 12.2-GHz methanol maser emission. 35 new 6.6-GHz maser sources were detected above a 3σ level of 3 Jy. The majority of the newly detected sources lie in the inner spiral arms of the Galaxy, with only one source in the Carina arm region.
