A CCD imaging observation of Comet P/Brorsen-Metcalf was carried out with a 188-cm telescope at the Okayama Astrophysical Observatory on August 3-4, 1989. A sunward fan-shaped structure of C2 molecules near the nucleus was found. The direction of the fan moved counterclockwise by about 6 deg in position angle during a 2-hour observation on August 4. If this fan is caused by an active region in the nucleus, this is the first detection of rotational motion. Assuming a simple rotation model with a high-latitude active region, two possible solutions for the rotation periods 13.5-15.0 hr and 30-40 hr were derived.
