Periodic visible light variations of the old nova V 603 Aql (1918) were detected with the Fine Error Sensor Instrument (FES) aboard the IUE satellite. Continuous observations were carried out during more than two complete cycles. The light curve shows a broad maximum and a pronounced minimum which was covered three times, and is tentatively interpreted as an eclipse of the accretion disk around the white dwarf by the late main sequence component.
